Polish baritone Andrzej Dobber has established an extraordinary career, performing continuously
on the worlds’ most prestigious opera stages. In 2015, at the request of the Staatsoper Hamburg,
he received the honorific German title Kammersänger 
for distinguished opera singers.

Andrzej Dobber is internationally known as the leading Verdi baritone. He is especially recognized
for his portrayals of Rigoletto, which he has sang in Dresden, Leipzig, Berlin, Munich, Hamburg, Düsseldorf, Paris, Valenzia, Geneva, Zürich, Cincinnati, and on Polish stages
in Warsaw, Krakow, Wrocław, Poznań
and Łódź. Other Verdi roles performed during his career include Nabucco, Iago, Simon Boccanegra,
Conte di Luna, Macbeth, Amonasro, Renato, Giorgio Germont, Stankar, Falstaff, Sharpless and Miller. Another important title in the artist’s oeuvre 
is Puccini’s Tosca. He presented the villain protagonist Baron Scarpia in Florence, Houston, at the Viennese Staatsoper and German Houses in Berlin and Dresden amongst others. Recently Andrzej Dobber added to his repertoire an increasing number of Wagnerian parts, such as Wolfram in Tannhäuser, Amfortas in Parsifal, Kurwenal in Tristan und Isolde or the title role
Der fliegende Holländer.

Since his operatic debut as Onegin at the Krakow Opera in 1986, the list of significant stages, where
he has sang includes: the Metropolitan Opera in New York, La Scala in Milan, Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London, Viennese Staatsoper, Opéra Bastille in Paris, Glyndebourne Festival, the Deutsche Oper or Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin. The Polish baritone enjoyed musical collaborations
with the world’s most renowned conductors, for instance: Roberto Abbado, Richard Armstrong,
Daniel Barenboim, Gary Bertini, Semyon Bychkov, Sylvain Cambreling, Riccardo Chailly, Colin Davis, Vladimir Fedoseyev, Valerij Gergijev, Yakov Kreizberg, Władimir Jurowski, Kazushi Ono, Lorin Maazel, Zubin Mehta, Roger Norrington, Arnold Oestmann, Kirill Petrenko, Helmuth Rilling, Carlo Rizzi,
Giuseppe Sinopoli, Stefan Soltesz, Pinchas Steinberg, Simone Young, Christian Thielemann or Edo de Waart. 

Currently, the artist is cooperating with the Staatsoper Hamburg, where he is invited regularly to sing
the title parts in Der fliegende Holländer and Rigoletto, as well as Iago in Otello, Klingsor in Parsifal,
Don Pizarro in
Fidelio, Scarpia in Tosca and Giorgio Germont in La traviata.

Andrzej Dobber comes from Więcbork, Poland. He gained his music education at the Vocal Department
in the class of Professor Helena Łazarska, the Piano and Organs Department of the Krakow Music Academy and the Meistersinger Conservatory in Nürnberg. The singer is a prize winner of prestigious vocal competitions: Neue Stimmen, Belvedere and ARD International Music Competition. In 2019 he has been
a Jury member of the International Adam 
Didur Opera Singers’ Competition in Bytom and the B. Paprocki Polish Vocal Competition in Bydgoszcz.
